The Palestinian woman, Hiba Al-Sharfa, joined “Right to Live” association in Gaza at the age of 4; and being one of the heroes of “Down Syndrome”, she began attending some classes of the association. Since day one, she has proven a strong will to learn and master what teachers say; she wrote it and said it repeatedly. She proved academic superiority in record time.
Heba pursued her dream until she completed her studies, and surprisingly! She passed all the tests and became a “teaching assistant” in the association, educating other heroes of “Down Syndrome”.
Heba’s strong will was behind her success and superiority as well as the support of her family, specifically her mother Noha Abu-Shaaban, who supported her step by step until she reached her dream.
The success story of Heba Al-Sharfa, who became the first teacher of Down syndrome in Palestine, can be repeated with thousands of “Down Syndrome” heroes in different countries. They just need someone to guide, support, and provide a suitable environment for success.
Al-Folk Foundation works in an integrated manner to provide an ideal environment to develop the skills of Down syndrome heroes in Egypt and integrate them into normal life in a way that achieves fair opportunities and justice of life!
