Rahma Khaled is one of the most prominent Egyptian ladies who have shown strength and determination to achieve their dreams, which made her a source of pride and inspiration. Rahma is a swimmer and Paralympic champion. She studied at Al-Alsun School of Tourism and Hotels, and succeeded in achieving her dream of becoming the first Egyptian broadcaster with Down syndrome, presenting her first program on “DMC” channel, “Today’s Children” TV program, and also a news bulletin for people with special needs. Rahma won her first swimming championship at the age of 8, and successes continued, as she won first place in the Olympic swimming championships in 2010 and 2011 and the Republic Championship in 2010. She represented Egypt in the regional sports championship in Syria and won four medals. Rahma worked as an official spokesperson for the Egyptian Federal Association for Intellectual Disabilities, and participated as a member of the advisory board of the International Olympiad for People with Down Syndrome. In addition, Rahma plays a positive awareness-raising role on Facebook to raise awareness of everything related to people with special needs, and participates in many events and conferences for people of determination.
