Chelsea Werner.. A journey from low muscle tone to a champion and model!

“When I was born, doctors told my parents that I would always suffer from low muscle tone…but I think I proved these doctors wrong!” Athlete and model Chelsea Werner showed us what it’s like to achieve great things despite the hard reality. Chelsea was born with Down syndrome, but she didn’t let that stop her from pursuing her dreams, and she is now a world model and Olympic champion.

Chelsea started playing sports at the age of eight. After trying several sports including soccer and swimming, gymnastics was the one that kept her interest, so her parents enrolled her in the Special Olympics Gymnastics where she trained for years. Werner’s skills improved until she took part in the first 2012 Special Olympics Gymnastics National Championships and was awarded the National Championship that year and won it three other times. In addition, she won the world championships twice.

The confidence she gained through gymnastics enabled Werner to pursue other ambitions in her life. Her mum says, “She loved modeling from the start! Chelsea has spent most of her life in front of the cameras, and she’s very comfortable with it, and that really helps with modeling.” Chelsea became a model for many international brands.

Chelsea is a role model who wants to inspire everyone. “Do what you love and always try your best,” she says. “Be grateful and try to stay positive.” and try to stay positive.”
