Al-Folk Iftar

In an atmosphere of love and warmth, and to celebrate the advent of the blessed month of Ramadan, Al-Folk Charitable Foundation and its president, His Eminence Metropolitan Paula, Metropolitan of Tanta and its affiliates, and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, held a collective Iftar party yesterday, Wednesday, March 29, 2023, in a joyful evening, in the presence and honor of the Governor, Prof. Dr. Tariq Rahmi, Governor of Gharbia, and Dr. Mahmoud Zaki, President of the University Tanta, Dr. Ahmed Atta, Deputy Governor, Major General Muhammad Naguib, Head of the Administrative Control Authority in Gharbia, Brigadier General Hisham Khorshid, Director of the Military Intelligence Office in Gharbia, Brigadier General Hani Muhammad Amer, Military Adviser, Ambassador Nabila Makram and Professor Najwa Al Ashiri, Secretary General of the Governorate, and the Vice Presidents of the University and the deans of the relevant colleges. In cooperation with the project, executive and legislative leaders, many public figures, educators, banks and businessmen, and in the presence of 30 Al-Folk down syndrome heroes and their families at the Matrix Club in the logistics area in Tanta.
It is worth noting that this ceremony coincides with the passage of one year since the inauguration of the Al-Folk project for the care of Down Syndrome heroes as a unique and distinguished project in Egypt and the Middle East to care and rehabilitate this category in an exemplary and integrated manner.
In his speech, Dr. Tariq Rahmi, Governor of Gharbia, said, “I feel proud being an Egyptian. I sit today among Egyptians gathered together by fasting of Ramadan and the Great Fast, and among the angels of Down syndrome, with whom we meet today to rejoice together with the anniversary of the establishment of the Al-Folk Foundation.

The governor of Gharbia indicated that the governorate continues to provide full support for the completion of the second phase, and other stages, congratulating the Al-Folk Foundation and all those in charge of it, headed by Metropolitan Paula, who was keen to implement this project to the fullest extent from the first day.

The governor added that this project is a new addition to the development and service projects that are being implemented on the territory of the governorate under the new republic established by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic.
His Eminence Metropolitan Paula addressed a word of gratitude, saying, “Thank you to God who gathered us today in these blessed days, which combine fasting the month of Ramadan with the great fast of the Copts. Thanks to God who gathered us around a sacred goal, which is to serve the angels with Down syndrome.”
And His Eminence presented the future plan of the second phase of the Al-Folk project which are:

  • To increase the capacity and increase the activities offered and their diversity
  • The Al-Folk School project to integrate this group into the different stages of education
  • Going out to other governorates in Greater Cairo and Upper Egypt to establish similar projects
    On the sidelines of the celebration, a documentary film was shown explaining the objectives of the project, as well as taking photos with the children and their families, and inspecting the exhibition of products implemented by the Foundation. It was a joyful day.
