Sama-Ramy

Sama Ramy, 20 years old, a student at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, Department of Logistics. Sama is an icon of expression for the Egyptian curricula, because she succeeded in removing the term Mongolian stupidity from the Egyptian curricula after campaigns, interviews, and support from the Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education. This was under the supervision of president Abdel Fattah El-Sisi; his love and support For all people with special needs helped her a lot. Eventually, the offensive term has been changed into the scientific description “Down syndrome”. Sama said: “We are not idiots; We can think, learn and deal with people. On our green list, the continent of Africa, we need schools to accept us; we need resource rooms; we need teachers who understand and teach us; we need people to accept us. We must learn the culture of difference and acceptance of the other.. We are people with special needs, not people with disabilities.
The only constant thing in life is constant change, and now is the time for change in the continent of Africa because we deserve a better life. The society’s view must change towards us.. Set a goal and do not give up on it until you achieve it. My dream is to remove the word “disability” from the whole world. Long live Egypt, the heart of Africa. Long live Africa, the green continent”.
