Dina Tarek

Dina Tarek is a world champion in gymnastics and the first rhythmic gymnast in Egypt and the Arab world with Down syndrome.
Dina Tarek is a distinguished sports champion with a history full of amazing achievements in swimming, gymnastics and tennis. In March 2019, she won 4 gold medals at the Special Olympics Regional Championships in Abu Dhabi. She also won five medals at the Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi.
As for swimming, Dina ranked third in the World Down Syndrome Championships in Italy in 2017, and won four gold medals in the Regional Swimming Championships of the Special Olympics in Syria in 2010.
Dina has also excelled in tennis; she got silver and bronze medals at the 2015 Special Olympics World Championships in America.
Moreover, Dina is the first ballerina in Egypt and the Arab world with Down syndrome, a folk dancer and the first girl with Down syndrome to perform whirling dance.
Dina was chosen among the 9 most influential people with Down syndrome in the world in 2016. In 2017, she was selected as one of the “50 Inspirational Women in Egypt” list. Dina participated in Qadroun Bekhtlaf celebration, by presenting a rhythmic gymnastics show in front of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
