Speech of Prof. Tariq Rahmi, Governor of Al-Gharbia, at the opening of Al-Folk project.
Under the slogan “Religion is for God, the Fatherland is for Everyone” Dr. Tariq Rahmi, Governor of Al-Gharbia, praised Al-Folk as a great project and a new addition to service projects.
He added that on the same approach to our new republic, Al-Gharbia Governorate has made great strides in building humans of all segments and people with special needs in particular, by developing the infrastructure equipped for them and upgrading the level of services provided to them regarding health, education, sports, arts and culture, in addition to paying attention to training and refining talents, skills development and economic empowerment in cooperation with all ministries, religious and civil institutions, and civil society in Al-Gharbia. Today, the governorate celebrates with the Diocese of Tanta and Al-Folk Foundation the launch of an integrated project aimed at containing, educating and developing the skills of a distinguished category of people with special needs; children with Down syndrome who are able to challenge disability.
Moreover, Dr. Rahmi pointed out that this great project receives all children with Down syndrome who suffer from physical and mental problems that need special treatment, care and attention. It also provides specialized sensory and motor training to everyone without distinction between Muslims and Christians or between Egyptians and foreigners, all are equal. Only one trait is needed, which is being humans, noting that this project will improve the skills of our children with Down syndrome, reduce the burden on their parents, provide trained cadres to deal with them, and provide job opportunities for many young people.
The governor paid tribute and appreciation to the owner of today’s event, His Eminence Metropolitan Paula, the owner of the idea, its implementer and its follower, who, he and the accompanying team, made a great effort in implementing this huge project, which was raising its structure day after day. He also emphasized that Metropolitan Paula pays attention to the minute details, so he succeeded in producing the project in the form of a decorative painting by a professional artist who is proud of his wonderful artistic and humanitarian work, so he deserves to be celebrated with today by this distinguished group of leaders in Egypt and Al-Gharbia Governorate.
