Natural behavior is a functional behavior that may serve one or several functions; it seeks to satisfy a need within us, and if it does not achieve its functions, it will gradually disappear.<br>Human behavior does not occur in a vacuum, but in an environment or the presence of a specific stimulus, and it is the product of an individual\u2019s interaction with their environment, and because the environment changes, behavior also changes, and the relationship between human behavior and environment is a reciprocal relationship, as it is affected by it and affects it.<br>Behavior management: Changing behavior by controlling the circumstances related to it.<br>This includes three strategies: First: modifying undesirable behavior, second: establishing good behavior, and third: inculcating a new behavior.<br>Therefore, the expression of behavior management is better and more comprehensive than the expression of behavior modification. In today&#8217;s article, we briefly review the elements of the first strategy, and in the following articles we will present the elements of the second and third strategies and then discuss those elements in some detail.<br>First: modify unwanted behavior<br>Behavior Modification<br>The process of behavior modification is one of the most important techniques that are used to treat behavioral problems in children in general (normal or with special needs) to provide them with a better opportunity to adapt to their society naturally.<br>Modifying behavior aims to change it for the better through three means, and this is done in the natural environment and by regulating environmental conditions or variables, especially what happens after the behavior because behavior is based on its consequences.<br>Behavior modification focuses on the present, not on the past. It also focuses on the apparent behavior and not the hidden behavior. It depends on direct and repeated objective measurement. Experimental functional analysis is used to explain and modify behavior.
