Since science and research are the solid foundation for all successful experiences worldwide, Bishop Paula began implementing his idea and pioneering project with scientific research based on practical experiments, and succeeded in drawing a “perfect picture” for Al-Folk. In such picture we see the latest world findings in the rehabilitation and treatment of heroes of Down syndrome together with new additions and innovations that make the project a pioneering global experience in Egypt. After Bishop Paula finished drawing the ideal image for the project, he began the implementation process, relying on the method of careful follow-up and evaluation of each step, so that Al-Folk project matches the ideal image drawn for it. Bishop Paula toured several European countries, including Italy and Switzerland, and studied advanced experiences in rehabilitating and integrating the heroes of Down syndrome into society. Then, he began to form a working group to assist him and transferred his various experiences in this field to it. Everyone began to seek one goal, which is to provide service worthy of human being and to present Egypt as a world pioneer in community work. In this pioneering experience, Bishop Paula was ready with years of experience in various fields, starting with his scientific studies. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Geology in 1974, and after that he was appointed as a researcher at the National Research Center. After that, he became a Monk in Monastery of Baramus in 1976, and got promoted in Church service until he became the Metropolitan of Tanta and its dependencies in November 2018.
